The Insanity that Was :: Part IV (NASA, Aquariums, and Sickies)

I was lucky enough to have my family (minus the Richardson clan... sad day...) fly back with me to Florida! We took a red eye flight--so crazy. Sounds like a good idea, but so isn't! We did a plethora of fun stuff while they were here, which included visiting the Tampa Aquarium and the Kennedy Space Center!

"Help me! I'm under attack!"

Cutest. Crab. Ever.

"Clearly, whoever designed these homes didn't have crabs of the long-legged variety in mind..."

The designated driver. Hmmmm...

Frrreeeert!

The KSC had cool stuff like this Gemini capsule from the Apollo 13 (or 14?) mission...

An actual Saturn V rocket. SO BIG.

The last shot of the night. The KSC was officially closed, but Dad suggested we take the "long way" out through the rocket gardens. Whoops. We got approached by security and were brutally thrown out on our backsides.
Okay, so not really. But we were informed that they were, in fact, now closed.

Poor Emily got sick with something nasty, so we were hotel-ridden the day the family went to Gatorland and took an airboat ride. Made for some cute pictures, though!

Sleepy kiddo...

...to be continued...
yup. it never ends. But you should be excited! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is next!!!

the Insanity that Was :: Part IIIB (Babies in Action)

Babies in action...

Aunt Julia has an uncanny ability to communicate with the babies...
Isaac, of course, only communicates with the manlier grunt version...

The Insanity that Was :: Part III (The UTAH Chapter...)

So. We got back from Texas on Tuesday, the 22nd of June. That Sunday--the 27th, Emily and I were back on a plane headed to Utah! I had a wedding to shoot on July 1st, and I needed to be there early for some photography stuff related to the wedding, so I ended up spending a whole week there.

Loved it.

Funny, though--I originally thought, "Wow! A whole week? What am I going to do with all that time?"

Yeah, WHATEVER.

As it turns out I was running from one thing to the next the whole time! Between shooting bridals, a photo session at the temple before the wedding day, editing said photos in time for the bride to pick one for her announcement which would be sent out the day after the wedding, shooting the wedding, a doctors appointment for Emily, haircut for me, lunch with some of the incredibly fabulous lady friends, getting my glasses straightened and my ring re-plated and cleaned, an engagement session and a  senior session--PLUS all the family stuff? PHEW! I needed an extra 5 hours (AT LEAST) added on to my days!

A huge shout out goes to my mom for taking care of Emily when I couldn't be around--not to mention letting me use a car!
And to Adriane for saving me in a tight situation! I couldn't have survived without you guys...

My not-so-little-anymore nephew Gregory had a birthday party while I was there! So fun!
I can't believe he's THREE!

Emily and Isaac particularly enjoyed their cake.

Can you tell?
No, I didn't give Emily a whole piece of cake... Just a couple of tastes... ;)
p.s. please take note of the FABULOUSLY STRAIGHT glasses.

I LOVED watching Isaac and Emily play together now that Emily can crawl around!

To Be Continued...

The Insanity that Was :: Part II

aka :: Also, while in Dallas...

We got to visit with some old friends! They decided that Texas was where all the cool kids hang out now, and left us wallowing in Utah. Er... Florida now. Whatever.
We introduced the kiddos...
"Evan, meet Emily... You know... your future wife?"
He likes older women, I promise.

...We ate until we exploded at Babe's--an authentic Texan restaurant where the only two entrees served are country-fried steak and fried chicken. Mmmm... and the all-you-can-eat sides served all throughout the meal? Mashed potatoes and gravy, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits, and creamed corn--HEAVEN...

...caught up on some much needed beauty sleep...

...milked some wildly stationary cows...
(and won six tickets in the process!)

...I taught Brad how to shoot a rifle. Poor guy didn't have a clue what he was doing...

...yeah, okay. So maybe he actually did...

...kicked some major trash at the coolest three story video game in the world...

...got my trash kicked in the coolest three story video game in the world...
Yeah. Why else do you think I'm at the BOTTOM. SOMEONE (read Kirby) popped my Davinci hot air balloon with his far superior pirate balloon... I was waiting to be repaired. Yup. I was down there a lot.

...Team Kirby won the World Cup, thanks to this guy...

...Emily had to correct Brad's aim AGAIN. He just can't measure up to us Davison women and our gun skills...

...we broke out the Dijiri Du...
Oh yeah. It's the real deal. And yes--I had to look up the spelling, and found conflicting results. This way was my favorite.

...Some Dijiri Du movies for your viewing pleasure...

...Dijiri Du Beat Boxing...

...we all got licensed as cops in the city of Denver...

...and last but not least, we wished Brad a very happy birthday! Just before he drove us to the airport! Thanks again, by the way... :)
And thanks for the cake mix cookie secret recipe, too, Ashley! ;) I've used it at least three times already!

The Insanity that Was :: Part I

Yeah, you heard me. Part I. You can't escape it. It will be madness over the next couple of posts!

I just laughed until I cried. Felt good.

Especially after the craziest couple of weeks ever. So fun. But did I mention CRAAAAZY!?

Let's start at the beginning, shall we?
In my head, that was said like the stepmother on Enchanted when she says, "Let's start with the one who started it all, shall we?"
Yes, it's true. I periodically have villains speaking my thoughts to me.

On the 18th of June, we took our very first flight with our little one--to Dallas, Texas.

She did SO GOOD.
Pardon me. So WELL...

What did we do in Texas? Brace yourselves...

We roasted and baked in 100+ degrees...

...ate delicious food...

...got reacquainted with Kirby's extended family...

...shmoozed Uncle Kadri into letting us lick his camera lens...

...had a crazy great time with Kirby's cousins...
(This included visiting Hurricane Harbor, to which Kirby decided he didn't need to wear shoes, resulting in giant blisters on his feet. Whoops.)

...giggled and screeched...

...learned how to do the crazy-cool rockstar splits...

...played with Grandpa and Grandma Davison...

...got locked out...
(or in, rather.)

...reluctantly released my alter ego villain for the sake of a family skit...

...discovered I'm not the only one with an inner villain...

...teehee...

..."I'm so villainous I can tickle my nose hairs with my own mustache! Bwahaha!"...

...relaxed and played with family...

Loved it.

Meanwhile...

Yeah. Pictures are edited.

And coming.

But meanwhile--check this out.
If you haven't already, of course.

It was posted three days ago, and already has over 900,000 views!

Huzzah, BYU!

And if you thought this was funny, but didn't know the original reference (like me...) look up "Old Spice. The man your man could smell like" commercial on YouTube.

Phew!

So much to blog, and so little time!

False.

I have time. I just have so much else to do during that time! I got back from all the vacationing with my family last night (they came to visit us in Florida for a week after I shot the wedding out there...) I just finished editing and engagement session that I shot while in Utah. I still need to edit the pictures from the wedding (the main reason for going to Utah), plus the bridals of my bride and groom (technically called "groomals," I guess...), plus a senior/pre-mission session which I also squeezed in while visiting the grand old Beehive state.

Oh yeah. And did I mention I have hundreds of pictures of me and my family? I am really itching to edit those next, but Mr. Soon-to-be-Missionary enters the MTC in two weeks, so I'm afraid his session takes top priority. But soon, people.

Very. Soon.
